Elizabeth Didier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 13, 2025.
Elizabeth Brooks (née Barnwell) Didier (57) passed peacefully and with family on November 4th at her beloved farm near Soldiers Grove, WI after a difficult battle with cancer.

She is remembered as a loving mother, wife, and friend as well as a talented artist, teacher, and activist. Her ability to bring out beauty remains immortalized in all the moments captured during her nearly three decades as a professional photographer in the Twin Cities.

From global documentary work shown in front of the UN to her more intimate project on healing and trauma, Still:life, Elizabeth had an incredible ability to bring compassion to some of life's hardest moments. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Christian Didier, and children Parker Meredith (Charles) and Julian Grubb.

Thanks for writing the lovely piece . Does anyone remember her sense of humor. She had me laughing just last month making a funny comment. She dealt with so much face on, and conquered. C., I´m sorry we never met... but it was obvious you were the one... her spirit was happy and I think it´s only yours and hers first chapter.

I am so sorry for your loss... Liz was a very special Lady who was gentle and kind. She loved life and embraced it. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

We never know why the ones we love are taken so soon so we must trust that there is a reason behind it.

I pray that God gives you the solace and comfort that you are in need of now. Just know that He wanted to call her home and that she is never truly gone.

She lives on in your memories of her, and she will always be there....in a thought, a familiar smell or a gentle breeze....that will be her telling you that she is okay....That it is okay.

Parker, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. Just a few days ago I was going through a memory box and found the photos she took of us at hidden beach and thought... what truly magnificent photos. When I wanted to shave the sides of my hair, she encouraged me and helped me do it. Anything we wanted to get up to, she supported. Always beautiful, always accepting, always encouraging. So many wonderful memories, the list goes on and on. My heart is with you during this challenging time. Xo, Liz
