Elizabeth Ann Prece Hoban, a devout Catholic of Branford, died peacefully on April 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at home. She was the wife of the late Robert Paul Hoban.
Elizabeth was born in New Haven on July 8, 1939. She was the daughter of Italian immigrants, Frank and Anna Marie Barile Prece. She was proud of her heritage and shared stories often, as she believed family is first. She was able to work alongside her late husband as the former owners of Branford Pizza in Indian Neck and had many ventures in real estate. She was known to offer shelter to the homeless and had tenants for over 25 years. She later founded Elizabeth's Homecare, as she had a passion for caring for the elderly.
She loved being by the water, raising her children by the beach and sharing her love of fishing and crabbing with her grandchildren. She never missed her grandchildren's sporting events and cheered loudly from the sidelines. She was the ultimate host, as she believed there was always a reason to celebrate. She was truly the life of the party.
She was a pillar of strength, an inspiration to her family through her faith and sharing love with one another. She is the reason her family knows how to love, how to forgive, how to work hard, and to always have faith in God. Her beautiful heart will always be remembered.
She was the proud and loving mother of Elisha Ann Miller (Mark), Casey Patrick Hoban (Maria), Heather Love Suppa (Vincenzo). Sister of Grace Mulone and the late Frances Lucibello, Angelo, Claudio, and John Prece. She was proud of her grandchildren: Ryan Miller, Madison Cassese (Henry), Wyatt Miller, Casey Jr., Calvin, Cody Hoban, Giuseppe, Isabella and Vincenzo Suppa Jr. She was able to spend time as a loving great-grandmother to Henry V and Leonardo Cassese. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday morning at 10am in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Mary Church, 731 Main St. Branford, CT. Burial will be private.
