A generous and kind spirit has passed from our presence. Although we were just in touch by cards in the recent past, Elizabeth has been a special friend to me for 35+ years & I will miss her. RIP sweet friend. Your handwork and growing things live on.

Elizabeth was my former Tuscaloosa neighbor in Claymont, fellow parishioner at Canterbury Episcopal Church, and friend. We served together on the flower guild and church vestry for a number of years. She was incredibly talented with plants and flowers, and an amazing cook and seamstress. Her yard was a showplace for many, many years. She was also not afraid to speak up and out for what was right and just, once even having had a cross burned in her yard for her stance and voice on social justice. Elizabeth’s no nonsense candor, character, and unwavering love and support as an ally came at a critical time in my life when I needed it most from someone of her generation. This had a profound influence on me and my relationship with my parents, for which I will be forever grateful. She is one of those few who we know without a doubt were placed in our lives at just the right time. She will be missed by many! ❤

Mrs. Kent was a dear, sweet lady and friend. First met when I worked with Mr. Kent at Gulf States Paper and our friendship continued over the years. She was always ready for pecans in the fall. In fact, our last conversation was to see if I had extras! She told me she had a good life and not to mourn her when she was gone. I know she is rejoicing in heaven! My heart goes out to the family that she dearly loved. I will miss her.

Elizabeth was my aunt and my mother's sister-in-law. She was a strong southern lady and admired by many. I will miss her sweet southern voice. Thoughts and prayers go out to her family.❤

She was a very gifted teacher and loved teaching and people, and was always so kind, and patient and gracious in teaching French hand sewing, smocking, etc. Heaven just gained a very bright light.

I didn't know Ms. Elizabeth personally but the character of her granddaughter Jordan and the love she very obviously sowed and received in return is a testament to the life she lived. My sincere condolences and prayers are with you all.

She was a wonderful lady who played a mean game of cards. I wish I got to know her better, but am grateful for the time I did have with her. I promised her that I would take good care of her daughter, my wife, for as long as I shall live. That is a promise I will keep.
