KOZA, ELIZABETH (BETTY) FLINT Age 93, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Flint, Michigan. Burial follows at All Saints Catholic Cemetery. Visitation 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Road, Flushing, Michigan where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday. Betty was born September 14, 1924 to parents Martha and Joseph Lenz in Flint, Michigan and she resided in Flint her entire life. She graduated from All Saints High School and continued her education at Eastern Michigan University. She married her best friend, John Koza, Jr. on July 16, 1949 and they shared 31 years together, and raised two daughters. She worked for Flint Junior College before going to work at the Flint Board of Education where she was the head secretary for the Superintendent of the Flint Schools. Mrs. Koza was a Life Member of the VFW Post 8236 and was past president of the Ladies Auxillary. She served as a volunteer at the Krapohl Senior Center, was a member of the Red Hat Society and belonged to a Bunko group. Surviving are: daughters, Ann Marie Young and husband Greg, and Carol Lynne Szczesniak and husband Rick; grandchildren, Ashlee Wheel and husband Phillip, Collin Szczesniak, and Angela Young; great-grandchildren, Sophie Margarite Wheel and Warren Kevin Wheel; sisters-in-law, Anne Koza and Helen Koza; brother-in-law, Edward Czech.
