I think of her again this year, 2020, and I miss her spirit, her beauty.

I only now learned of her death, tonight October 25, 2017. We spoke on the phone about a year and a half ago, and she was quite ill then. She invited me to stay with her if I were to visit the Bay Area--I had lived there most of my adult life and moved to New Mexico six years ago. She was a dear friend, an inspiring teaching colleague, and I miss her!
Elizabeth, in whatever cosmos or Bardo you may be in, I wish you love and joy. Her spirit is so beautiful.

Elizabeth was a wonderful person, a real light to her students and to the world. She was a leader in our profession, but also a kind and gentle person, with a terrific sense of humor -- never at the expense of others. I feel very privileged to have known her for some part of the time her beautiful, intelligent presence graced our world.

Elizabeth was my friend and colleague. I admired her incredibly positive outlook on life, her strength, her inner beauty. I will always remember her laughter, and her huge smile that brightened any room when she walked in.

Libby was one of my first friends when I moved to Marin from Michigan during our high school junior year. We shared similar last (Dutch) names and accents which encouraged our friendship. she was a joyous, caring, generous person, with an easy laughter, who will surely be missed by many people.

Elizabeth was like a Christmas spirit-bright, beautiful, full of light and positivity. Every Christmas for many years, we filled stockings which we donated to kid-centered organizations. Elizabeth's generosity and joy in bringing love and hope to these kids was an inspiration I will never forget.
