MAHAR - Elizabeth A. "Betsy" (Castro), 39, of Harwich, died April 16, 2004. Devoted mother of Christopher, Brendan, Beth Anne Switzer and Michael Mahar, Jr., all of Harwich; loving daughter of Elizabeth A. (Cook) Clancy of West Harwich and Venice, FL and the late Angelo L. Castro, Jr.; sister of Glenn A. Castro of Sante Fe, NM, Deborah E. Barton of Venice, FL, Neil M. Castro of Saratoga Springs, NY, Kathleen A. Rose and Scott A. Castro, both of South Yarmouth and Brian L. Castro of Waterford, NY. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, April 22 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth (www.hallettfuneralhome.com). Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery, Yarmouthport. Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 21 in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Betsy Castro Switzer Mahar Children's Fund, c/o Trustco Bank, 7 Clifton Country Rd., Clifton Park, NY 12065.

To the Entire Castro-Mahar Family,

I just received notice of Betsy's passing and I too am shocked and saddened by her loss. I went to Shenendehowa with Betsy and knew her and her brothers Scott and Brian fairly well way back then. She was a very sweet and fun person to be around, and she will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless.

We are very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts & prayers are with you at this difficult time. Betsy was a very special person. My kids adored her. When my daughter worked at the mall, they would talk during breaks. She always asked me how my kids were doing. We will miss her warmth & kindness.
