Elizabeth "Betty" Rott, age 79, of Oswego, IL passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL.

She was born on June 16, 1938 in Glasgow, Scotland the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Gilmore) Fairlie. Betty was united in marriage on April 16, 1966 to Mr. George W. Rott and they spent the next 49 happy years together until his passing on August 29, 2015. Mrs. Rott was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where she participated in both its Rosary and Prayer Shawl making groups. She enjoyed spending time flower gardening. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Betty is survived by her children, Larraine (Ed) Bertrang of Hill Point, WI, John Rott of Yorkville, IL, Brian (Karen) Rott of Cortland, IL and Judy Rott of Florence, KY; her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Rott of Casper, WY; nine grandchildren with one more soon to be; and one great-granddaughter; also many nieces and nephews; as well as her faithful dog, Misty.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George W. Rott; her son, George A. Rott; her two brothers and four sisters.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut Street, Yorkville, IL with Father Matthew Lamoureux, M.I.C., officiating. Interment will follow in the Risen Lord Cemetery in Oswego, IL. Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.
