Elizabeth Sandberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 18 to Apr. 24, 2023.
Elizabeth Ann Sandberg Corcoran - Elizabeth, known as "Annie" to most, passed away peacefully April 5, 2023, in her daughter and son-in-laws home in Minnesota, where she resided, surrounded by love.

Annie was born in Michigan on July 1, 1941 to Reverend James and Lois Mercer where she was the oldest of 6 children. She often told stories of her nostalgic childhood and especially appreciated that her parents raised her to know the Lord.

She attended Pillsbury College and Bob Jones University and eventually went on to be an amazing wife, devoted mother and Nana. Ann and Buzz, after raising their children, devoted their lives to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. They made friends and literally changed lives around the world. Her years after her beloved husband passed were spent in Texas basking in the middle of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. James and Lois Mercer, sister, Martha Jo Pagliuca, husband, Dr. Emanuel "Buzz" Sandberg Jr, four children Carrie, Steven, John and Robin and 2 grandchildren. She is survived by her 4 siblings, 4 children, 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Her legacy will live on through all of them for generations to come.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday June 17, 2023 at Ashland Theological Seminary Chapel on the seminary campus, 910 Center St., Ashland. Dr. Fred Finks officiating.

Dear Tracy,
So sad to see your mother passed away. However, I know it will be a wonderful homecoming for her.
She was such a beautiful gracious lady, full of charm and encouragement. I am so blessed to have known her. She knew how to make me feel loved because of her sweet smile and lovely accent.
Angels are singing and she will be receiving many crowns from our Heavenly Father
