Dearest Liz, we were the first QAS girls to be allowed to join the Reading Youth Orchestra, on condition that we didn't talk to any boys! So Thursdays nights we escaped into Reading with our instruments , and you made it all such fun. You taught me the piano too and we both sang in the choir. A truly wonderful friend. Lovely Liz - such fond memories of my perfect violin & piano teacher. You set me on the right path for life, and guided me through those critical first years of musical experience with a steady hand, warmth and understanding - forever a part of me!

To the cherished memory of the extraordinary and wholly individual Liz, who taught me the violin, godmothered our first daughter and taught all of us about friendship.

I met Liz in her Cambridge days. From 1979 she trained me as a musicians' landlady in Bristol. Invariably she was working Bristol on April 4th. Her 50th and 60th birthdays were celebrated in our house; both memorable occasions. Then in June 1979 there was her very special 'thank you to landladies' party in Birmingham. It was a unique and never to be forgotten evening. I shall miss her company visiting stately homes and exhibitions - a very special friend.

Liz,
You were so kind to us as soon as we moved into Berestede, just 12 short months ago. Your enthusiasm for life was inspiring, and your natural ability to make friends and include all was wonderful.
Vaya con dios.
