Knowing and working with Betty was a true pleasure. She was a wonderful lady with both a good sense of humor and clear resolve. We know she will be missed. Our deepest sympathies.

I had the pleasure of working with Betty for sevefral years when she was a member of the Commission on Quality of Care. Her dedication and knowledge were invaluable assets to the Commission and she will be sorely missed.

Aunt Pete was one of the dearest, smartest and prettiest women I've ever known. I will hear her distinctive laugh at all of life's joys and ironies for a long, long time. She meant a lot to so many, especially my mother. I'm so sorry for the loss her passing means for her wonderful family.

Sweet Pete, Betty. Elizabeth...by every name a woman of great valor who led from her heart, wisdom a part of who she was and wisdom that lives on in those who knew and loved her. A deep part of my early youth was blessed by this great mentor and friend. I shall miss her greatly as I continue to carry her in my heart where she has been since I met her in 1958.
