Elizabeth Walton

Elizabeth "Beth" McLaughlin Walton passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at her home near Charlottesville, Virginia, along with her children, Noah (19), Lily (16) and Andrew (13) Romando. Beth was born in Lewisburg, West Virginia, on July 8, 1963. She graduated from Greenbrier East High School and went on to complete her education at West Virginia University. She was currently employed by C-Ville Weekly, Charlottesville, Virginia. Beth is remembered for her great faith, sparkling personality and love of family and friends. She enjoyed expressing herself through creative and artistic projects. Beth is survived by her husband, Don Walton, the love of her life. She is also survived by Don's children, Haley and Logan; paternal parents, Philip and Paula McLaughlin; her siblings, Philip Jr. and Sherry McLaughlin, Jody and Dave Hammond, and Chris and Carin Baker; nieces and nephews, Stephen, Daisy and Philip III McLaughlin, Scott and Meagan, and Sam Herndon, Emma Smith, Elizabeth and Hunter Adkison, and Joe Baker; uncles and aunts, John and June Strader and Smokey and Alice McKnight of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jane Forbes McLaughlin; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Forbes, and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew McLaughlin. Services for Beth and her children will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 401 Alderman Road, Charlottesville, Virginia, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012. A time of celebration of the life of Beth will be held at Old Stone Church, Lewisburg, West Virginia, 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established benefiting C.A.S.A, a non-profit organization for the protection of abused and neglected children. Contributions may be made at Greater Greenbrier Valley Community Foundation, 109 South Jefferson Street, Lewisburg, West Virginia 24901.
