Elizabeth "Peggi" Munch Wheeler 97 of Lakeland, FL; Formerly of Brooktondale, NY passed away on September 14, 2024, at Lakeland Regional, Fl.

Elizabeth was born on July 28,1927 in Caroline Center, Ny. She was the daughter of Charles Nichols Munch Sr. and Ruth E Meir Munch, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edson Wheeler, son Gary Lee Wheeler, Sister Bernice Munch Hall and brother Charles N Munch Jr.

After marrying Edson, they moved to Brooktondale where they were both very active in their community with the volunteer fire department and woman's auxiliary. In addition to volunteering, Elizabeth worked at Baker lab, Cornell university in the K-9 department. She enjoyed summer trips to Canada with family and friends. In her spare time, she loved to craft and celebrate Christmas all year long. After moving to Lakeland, Fl in 1987 Elizabeth and Edson continued their love of crafting and bringing Christmas spirit to everyone.

Elizabeth Wheeler is survived by her daughter Patricia Wheeler Howser of Flowery Branch, GA.

Two grandchildren; Jamie Howser of Va, Jodi and (Michael) Howser Copeland, of GA.

Great Grandchildren; Nicole and (Trenton) Greevebiester, Alanna and (James) Hahn, Maribeth Howser, and AJ Howser. Two Great-Great Grandchildren Vash Elias Greevebiester and Bellamy Edson Hahn, and numerous Nephews and Nieces.

Elizabeth will be cremated in Lakeland, FL. A celebration of life will be at a later date in Brooktondale, NY and interned at Quick Cemetery, Brooktondale, NY.

Memorial donations can be made to the Brooktondale Fire Department in Elizabeth Wheeler's name. Any condolences can be made to the family at 4764 Gateway Lane, Flowery Branch, GA 30542.

We extend our thoughts and prayers to the family of Peg.
We first met Peg when we moved next door to her in 1962 in Brooktondale.
She was a great neighbor and a dear friend. She was always there to help. She was gifted with many talents and taught us about her sewing and craft skills.
Her absence will be felt deeply by many who loved and respected her.
May she rest in peace.
