I had the pleasure of knowing you all as friends, and was an employee of the Spokesman many years ago. I had the pleasure of working under Launa and always enjoyed her sense of humor, as well as her sense of community and justice. She was a strong, loving woman whom I always looked up to, and she will be missed greatly. My prayers and love are with you all. ~ Tracey

Norma Jean Jack and family, thoughts and prayers are with you all. Mrs. Newman was a very special lady and will be truely missed. We new each other for many years and I have a lot of good memories. Think about the good times and it will help get you through the sad times.

Norma Jean & Family...Deep condolences from the Cook Family. What a woman Launa was. Over her 87 years, she saw a lot of changes, educated and enlightened the Twin Cities communities on African-American affairs. Her accomplishments for women speaks for itself - a great pioneer. I am thrilled that I had the opportunity to know her, it was a total pleasure.
