Ella Jane Spotanske, our mother, grandma and friend went to join her Lord on Sunday, January 5, 2003.
She was born on December 21, 1934, near Sturgis, SD, and grew up on the farmlands of South Dakota. She graduated from Orland High School and lived most of her life in Sioux Falls, SD. Her remaining years were spent in the Tri-Cities.
Ella was known for her robust personality which she held onto even as her health began to fail. She had many interests, especially in making her "Grandma quilts," teaching line dancing and her beautiful plants.
You were very loved and will be missed, Mom.
Ella is survived by her daughter Janella Padilla and her husband Dario of Kennewick; son Mark Spotanske and his wife Michelle of Sioux Falls, SD; son Scott Spotanske and his wife Kathy of Madison, SD; and her brother Robert Adams and his wife Sharon of Box Elder, SD. Ella is also survived by five grandchildren, Nicole Solferino and Daniel Wingle of Kennewick,WA; Jammie Spotanske and Adam Spotanske both of Sioux Falls, SD; John Spotanske of Madison, SD; stepgrandchildren Damian Padilla and his wife Christy of Richland and Daria Padilla of Seattle, WA; and seven great-grandchildren in addition to the new arrivals we are anticipating.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Evelyn Adams, brothers, John and Frank Adams and her former husband and children's father, Donald Spotanske.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday January 8, 2003, from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mueller's Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick, WA.
Christian service will be Thursday January 9, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at Mueller's Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union St., Kennewick, WA, with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland, WA.
A luncheon reception will follow burial at Nicole and Marco Solferino's home, 636 N. Perry Loop in Kennewick, WA.
