Ellen J. Christian

Ellen J. Christian (Eddleblute), 84, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025. She was born on March 25, 1940, to the late Blaine Eddleblute and Ester Jean Poling in Lancaster, Ohio. Ellen graduated from Lancaster High School in 1958.

After raising her four children, Ellen worked in retail at Fashion Bug until her retirement. She cherished the social aspect of her job, always enjoying visits from friends and family who stopped by to shop. She had a warm presence and seemed to know everyone in Lancaster. Ellen found joy in her card club, playing euchre, and sharing fellowship with her close friends. She also loved walking, reading, and traveling with her beloved husband, Warren Christian. A woman of faith, she was a member of Fairfield Christian Church.

Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Warren Christian; her parents; her sisters, Barbara J. Poling and Susan J. Casey (Poling); and her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Mike Aslany.

She is survived by her brothers Don Eddleblute (Diana) of Lancaster, Jeff Poling of Columbus, and Randy Poling (Debbie) of Newark; her children Alan Eden (Annette) of Lancaster, Kelli Eden-Tackett (Terry) of Granville, Kris Eden (Dianne) of Mechanicsville, MD, Kurt Eden (Kellie) of Lancaster, Warren R. Christian Jr. (Ginger) of Effingham, IL, Christopher Christian of Maine, and Jodi K. Randolph (Larry) of Point, Texas; as well as several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Ellen will be remembered for her radiant smile, sense of humor, and caring and loving nature. Honoring her wishes, no services will be held. She generously donated her body to the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. Memorial contributions may be made to a local hospice organization or a charity of choice.
