Marcia Byrd Seattle

Aunt Erlene and Uncle George were our "family" growing up as my brother David indicated. I spent a week with them at Priest Lake every summer as a young girl and they were the best parents! They always made us laugh and Aunt Erlene would take me under her wing. As my Mom advanced in her dementia, Aunt Erlene was always there to talk to....she has been a light in my life! I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I talked to Aunt Erlene last year when Dad got sick, and did see her in Spokane about 5 years ago. We visited her home and it still looked the same after all these years. Thank you, Marcia Byrd, Seattle.

My deepest sympathy to the family; Erlene and George were 2nd parents to us growing up. We spent many weekends visiting them in Spokane and they spent many weekends with us in Ellensburg. I have so many fond memories of both of them and enjoyed the fact they were always there for us and we always had so much fun together. My dad met George while teaching and that's how they became friends and the rest is history between the two families. My dad passed last August due to cancer and my mom is in a home for dementia pts and no longer knows her three children. I caught up with Erlene last fall and she sounded great and we both enjoyed getting caught up. I will always remember her smile and generosity and all the fun we had growing up and spending time with her. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. My dads name was Ross Byrd and my mom's name is Ida. My sister Marcia resides in Seattle, my brother Dan is in LaConner and I'm in Minneapolis and Chicago.
