Ellen Louise Rusk was a force for good and had a zest for life. Ellen was a devoted mother, wife, daughter and sister. Ellen was born May 30, 1976 to Steve and Joan Christoffersen in Whittier, CA. She passed away March 14, 2024 in Tualatin, OR.

Ellen was the third child of Steve and Joan and arrived with a full head of red hair and a smile that communicated love to everyone. Ellen grew up in Brea, CA. She continued to bring love to all those she knew for all of her days. Ellen loved to be creative, serve others, play soccer, dress up and spend time with family. Ellen always loved animals and spent her life nuturing many creatures.

Ellen met Trent Rusk through mutual friends. They formed an immediate friendship and fell in love. They were married on a beautiful summer day in June 1998. Together they laughed and made many memories along with many moves. They loved several pets. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Lexi, Ashlyn and Ruby. Ellen loved being a mother and watched over her girls with tenderness. She instilled in them a compassion and awareness of others.

Ellen worked professionally in many area and for many years ran her own bookkeeping company. Ellen enjoyed serving with Make a Wish Foundation where she would plan parties for children. It was her passion to serve others. She loved being an aunt to many nieces and nephews.

One of Ellen's greatest attributes was her ability to build lasting friendships. She knew how to bring the best out in others. Ellen did most things quietly not seeking attention for herself. She loved making others happy.

Ellen, you are loved and will be missed. Your life was filled with what mattered most- living and serving others as a mom, a wife, a friend, and a neighbor. I am grateful for your example and look forward to seeing your beautiful smile again someday

Ellen loved being with her cousins at Grandma Betty's house. She was the youngest of the granddaughters at this time. Grandma Betty's was a special place to be together with our families.

I will always always always remember Ellen for her love and kindness. She is quiet on the surface, but her love, compassion, and tenderness is palpable. I have never felt like an in-law around Ellen. She immediately made me feel and treated me like I had always been her niece, from day 1. Ellen loves tenderly, in the fiercest of ways. Or maybe fiercely in the tenderest of ways? Both, really. And I´m grateful I get to be a recipient of some of her love.

Sending all my love and prayers to Ellen´s family for comfort and peace. I love you all so much.

Ellen had the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known, as she quietly guarded her own. We would meet for 5 am walks around the neighborhood and talk about life and our girls. Ruby and my Sydney had a special bond and we tried to keep their friendship going even with the large distance. I feel blessed to have had Ellen´s friendship. She was one of a kind and always full of love. I know her family feels a huge hole and I wish I could ease their pain. You´ll continue to be in my prayers.
