Born in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of the late Tallie Rowe and Nellie Brigner Rowe, she was the wife of Wallace Whitten of Saluda. She was dedicated to the Saluda School District 1 for 27 years in food service.
Surviving are her husband, daughter, Mrs. Spanky (Mahleeta) Seibert of Batesburg, son, Justin Wallace Whitten of Saluda, sister, Mrs. Lonnie (Barbara) Fain of Ninety Six, grandson, Matthew Allen Seibert, special niece, Tonya Harmon of Plum Branch, and special great-nephew, Andrew Harmon, numerous nieces and nephews .
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at Ramey Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011, in the Ramey Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in West Travis Park Cemetery, Saluda, SC.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. and Mrs. Whitten's co-workers. Pallbearers will be Ron Harmon, Lewis Edwards, Phillip Rowe, Gary Seibert Sr., Keith Bedenbaugh and Joey Whitten.

DEAR WALLACE AND FAMILY, I AM SO SORRY. DIDN'T FIND OUT UNTIL FRIDAY. CLIFF HAS BEEN OUT OF TOWN TOO. LOVE SAMMYE AND CLIFF OWDOM.
