Ellen "Diane" Wyrick

Ellen "Diane" Wyrick, age 57, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Freeman Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Diane was born on Jan. 26, 1953, in Webb City, Mo., the daughter of John and Betty (Felland) Cooper. She graduated from Neosho High School in 1971. At the age of 40 she went back to school and became a CNA, then an LPN and then received her RN from Crowder College in 1996. She worked as a PRN for Tulsa Regional Medical Center and she worked 13 years for Freeman Hospital, primarily in the cardiac care unit. She was a member of Harmony Heights Baptist Church. She married Phillip Wyrick on Nov. 3, 1989, in Joplin. He survives. Additional survivors include three sons, Adam Polk and wife, Kimberly, Tulsa, Okla., Matthew Polk, Joplin, and Jacob Polk, Tulsa; one daughter, Brandie Harris and husband, Danny, Broken Arrow, Okla.; two stepsons, Michael Wyrick and wife, Ryla, Wichita, Kan., and David Wyrick and wife, Beretta, Carl Junction, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Mollie Dees and husband, Dustin, Seneca, Mo.; her mother, Betty Cooper, Neosho, Mo.; two brothers, Joe Cooper and wife, Kim, Belton, Mo., and Jeff Cooper and wife, Tigger, Diamond, Mo.; four sisters, Betty Jamison, Tulsa, Okla.; Carrol Bell and husband, Gary, Pittsburg, Kan., Sandy McNett and husband Randy, Diamond, and Barbara Morgan and husband, Bob, Neosho; 13 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John Cooper; and by her brother and sister-in-law, John and Barbara Cooper. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harmony Heights Baptist Church. Rev. Charles Burnett will officiate. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diane Wyrick Memorial Fund in care of the mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Chapel.
