Rosemary,
I must admit that I didn't know Elmer that well. I remember that he used to love cards and playing gin rummy for nickels. I remember the aroma of his cigars, they were a sweet smell to me as a kid. You were a good sister to have taken care of him as you did. Life is short, but I think loving kindness and a heart of service are eternal qualities.

Aunt Rosemay,
I was very sorry to hear of Uncle Elmer's death, but I'm sure he is in a happier place now. I have memories of helping to load hay bales on summer afternoons after Elmer had baled them earlier in the day. And I especially enjoyed staying at your house when you went on vacation, and I tended to the chickens and ducks. Uncle Elmer would let me help him with various projects that he had to do. One time, I remember that a peach crop got ripe sooner than expected, so Grandma, Elmer, and I had to put them up before you got back; I don't imagine you were too unhappy! One time he treated me to a Cardinal's baseball game with a church group. And I do remember that he loved to play cards.

Sorry to hear for Elmer's passing away. He was a nice person. He had so many stories and information to tell which I enjoyed.
