While not as well known, his work was no less important. He worked side by side with all the others that were so dedicated to helping others get better working conditions and most importantly their civil rights. May God grant peace and strength to the Nickleberry family to help endure your time of loss.

I learned about this courageous gentleman a few years ago after having watched him and another Memphis sanitation worker named Taylor Rogers interviewed on National Public Radio. Both men epitomized a slice of the best of the American dream and stood up to do their parts to ensure America would be true to what it said on paper. May he rest in peace and receive his heavenly reward.
