WILLIAM MCCAULEY
BRIGHTON — William J. McCauley, 91, of Brighton, died at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton. He was born of the late James and Frances (Coleman) McCauley in Jersey County, Illinois, on October 22, 1924.
He retired from Laclede Steel as a tool repairman.
Survivors include four daughters and their spouses: Sue and Don Crawford of Brighton, Jean and Calvin Garrett of Godfrey, Donna Graviett of Palmyra, Tammy and Jeff Alexander of Brighton, two sons and their spouses, Lawrence and Debbie McCauley of Gretna, Louisiana, Bill and Annette McCauley of Alton, 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, three sisters, Dorothy Baker of Shipman, Mary Giesler of Godfrey and Frances Gabriel of Alton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James McCauley, four sisters: Ruth Peters, Margaret McCauley, Betty Lake, Edna Bounds, one son-in-law, David Graviett.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m.Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton.
The Rev. James Lampley will officiate.
Burial will take place in Brighton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Godfrey Church of Christ.
