Elnora "Betty" Lhota, of New Stanton, formerly Monessen, passed Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014. Betty was born in Monongahela, the youngest of the late Dalby and Grace (Hillman) Stevenson's 13 children. Betty is survived by one daughter, Debra Lhota, of Pittsburgh; two sons, Kevin (Patty) Lhota, of Pittsburgh, and David Lhota, of Monessen; one son-in-law, Jim Calderaro, of Pittsburgh; one grandson, Jason (Deana) Lhota, of Trafford; five granddaughters, Melanie (Renawn) Harris, of North Huntington, Allyson (Dan) Sapko, of Unity Township, Cassandra (BeBe) Broughton, of Orange Park, Fla., Gabrielle (Dave) Garrety, of Washington, and Sabrina (Greg) McConnell, of Wexford; 13 great-grandchildren; treasured nieces and nephews; and dear friends, including Ginny and Lois. Betty was a homemaker and devoted wife to Edward Lhota, before his death in 1980. Betty enjoyed playing cards, visiting Cape May with niece, Chris, and spending time with family, especially her great-grandchildren. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in New Stanton and a 50-year member of Eastern Star. Betty was also preceded in death by her daughter, Megan Calderaro, seven brothers and five sisters. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME, 101 Fourth St., Youngwood. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. John W. Seth to officiate, followed by service at the Monongahela Cemetery Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to The Megan Lhota Calderaro Scholarship Fund at Clarion University.
