Though absent in body, Mama Elsie remains ever-present, guiding us with unwavering clarity in carrying forward our Family History Legacy. With steadfast specificity, she charged us with the sacred duty of preserving and proclaiming its significance-making it plain for all to see.

A true Pioneer, Her voice echoes through generations, from Darnell, Old Floyd & Lake Providence Carroll Parishes Louisiana-a place with a story to tell, one she spoke boldly, and one we must continue to share.

Dear Cousin Elsie,

Our story is a remarkable and unique one. In 2016, I was gifted a Ancestry DNA Kit and I began my Self Discovery Journey, and along that Journey I discovered You, thanks to your Grandaughter Regina. We DNA matched and discovered we have Roots that tie us to West Carroll Parrish, Louisiana. Getting to know you and learning about my Family has not only been a Blessing, but an Honor as well. My Aunt, who was also born there, loved that I connected us as well. My heartaches I didn't get to make that trip with you back to Louisiana, but now I know you did make it Home. Thank you for your Love and Prayers, and being kind. You will be missed. May You Rest Well In The Embracing Arms Of Our Heavenly Father.

Cousin Elsie whom I like to call "Auntie" I am so Blessed to have you in my life. I enjoyed our last day together. You had me crying in laughter. This picture is a treasure in my life. Thank you for sharing your life with us and being such a Beautiful Human being that helped raise me Love you Eternally.

Cousin Elsie will be missed. Her beautiful smile and her love of sharing family history are two things that I will remember. She always opened up her home to family and friends and it came with a hot breakfast and cup of coffee at the kitchen table. Love you Elsie.
