Emelda "Mel" Tyler, age 54, departed this world peacefully at West Jefferson Healthcare Center. She was a graduate of Walter L. Cohen, Sr. High School, class of 1976. Relatives, friends of the family, residents, employees and staff of Crescent City Healthcare, Masion DeVille, West Jefferson Healthcare Center, West Jefferson's CCU, LSU Interin Hospital, Clancy's Restaurant and LA DOTD are invited to attend her Memorial Service, Wednesday, November 7, 2012, 10:00 am at New Hope Missionary B.C., 1807 LaSalle St., NOLA. Pastor John C. Raphael will be officiating. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Leola Tyler, Sr.; maternal and paternal grandparents and 2 nephews, Thomas Anthony Tyler and Ronnie Leon Williams. She leaves to cherish her memories, 2 sons, Joseph "Ditty" and Jamal Kendrick Tyler; 1 daughter-in-law Saundrea Jackson; 1 granddaughter, Unyque Jackson; 3 brothers; Joe Tyler, Jr. (Denver, CO), Major James (Elaine) Tyler and Ronnie Leon (Paulette) Tyler; 2 sisters, Bernadette Tyler and Julie Tyler Newman; special friend, Frank Wells and a host of nieces, nephews and other releatives and friends. Services entrusted to the Caring Staff of Professional Funeral Services, Inc., "Divine, A New Dimension of Service," 1620 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117, (504) 948-7447.
