Emerson Gillespie

GILLESPIE, Emerson Wayne November 13, 1935 - April 14, 2011 Wayne (Emerson) Gillespie, born on November 13, 1935, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the age of 75 years. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Ruby; daughter Sheila Sterna (Paul); grandsons Sean (fiance Anita) and Heath; daughter Debra Gillespie-Sweetnam (Al); grandson Jesse and granddaughter Paige. He will be sorely missed by his brothers Lyle of Victoria BC, and Larry of Dawson Creek, BC, and their families; numerous relatives and many, many friends. Wayne started out in the oil patch in 1960 driving a wireline truck and retired, after forty years, as a senior executive for Computalog. He was always available to help out a neighbour or friend, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, whether it was changing out a clutch in a car or playing a game of cards. One of his favourite spots was the ""Lake House"", Wayne and Ruby"s second home on Shuswap Lake where they spent many happy times together, and where friends and family were always welcome. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY"S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com .
