The Rev. Emile Joffrion

I never had the pleasure of meeting Emile. I knew Episcopalians in Birmingham, Alabama who knew him and his daughter, Emily. The Rev. William Yon and the Rev. Benjamin Smith spoke of a loving family and a man devoted to his family. It is clear that Emile celebrated God and family and life and love. I am sorry to hear of his passing.

Emile was a guiding light to all in Hntsvlle throughout the Moon shot years, to those of us who worked to make it happen, to the town of Huntsville. We all cherished him and his beautiful family. Thank You, God, for loving us through him!

You are all in my heart and my prayers.
He was a wonderful man and priest.

With gratitude for Emile's life and service to the community and to all of creation, and condolences to the family and all who miss his presence in this part of creation. Well done good and faithful servant.

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.


Our thoughts and prayers are with the Joffrion family in this time of loss. Emile was a pillar of the church and the finest of men.

I am thinking of you especially on this day when you see your formal goodbye to Emile. The good news for all of us he will always live in our hearts. He was an important part of my life and I will miss him as you do.

Emile was my favorite priest, and I've known 76 years of priests. When I arrived in Huntsville in 1960, Emile welcomed me and Nativity became my home. He and Martha were family to all of us. I send blessings to the Joffrions and all the church family.

Years pass and we never forget our old school friends...he made me laugh and listened without judgment. Rest in peace, my friend.

Emile was the primary source of comfort and strength while at the same time the source of our humor, humanity and love.

I remember his time here in Oxford. He was a wonderful Priest and delightful person. I am so sorry for your loss.

Huntsville may have lost its most caring man.
