She was for me, interwoven in memories of growing up in the Polish community, with all the WW2 refugees and trauma, as the gentle, soft spoken Pani Mila. I loved her like an Auntie, and enjoyed going to the Coppertop watching her love her chocolate martinis. I know she is with Jesus, not because of a religious identity, but a deep, real, faith in the Lord she conveyed in kindness and never gossiped in front of Sacred Heart after mass. We'll see each other again, love Krisha Kalinowski

Dear Marta and family,
No matter how old we are, it’s never easy to lose a parent. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you grieve.

In my short time with Miss Emilia, I was able to learn so many things about Poland and other fascinating subjects we’d chat about randomly. It was truly an honor of helping take care of her and being her friend and spending time with her. She will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Emilia was such a beautiful person with a kind heart. She spoke so lovingly of her children. She had such a wonderful sense of humor, and I loved to make her laugh. Just like Emilia, I love my coffee very hot too (inside joke).
