Emily Armstrong Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 18 to Feb. 21, 2023.
Emily Armstrong 1987-2023

On February 6th, our Emily unexpectedly left this world. She was born in Pittsfield, and a lifelong Berkshire County Native.

She leaves behind her loving husband Alan and son Alden. She also leaves her Aunt Michelle and Uncles Glenn, David, Gary and her grandmother Elda. Also her mother in law Hildy, and many hearts she touched in her too short time here. She is predeceased by her mother Suzanne and brother.

Emily was full of life and a force to be reckoned with, she had a fire and light that shined through her beautiful smile and the way she carried herself. She was an inspiration, her love of taking care of people led her to a nursing career where she excelled. She obtained her RN and Bachelor's degree and was certified in foot care. When she wasn't working Emily enjoyed the outdoors including fishing and camping. She also spent time crafting, but the things she loved the most were being Alden's mom and spending time with her husband. Her love for life and adventure will live on through them.

Services will be held at Saint Mary's Church in Lee on Saturday, February 25, 10 AM Family and Friends gathering 11 AM Service Reception to follow at St. Mary's School.

Emily was a genuine and beautiful soul. I was her school nurse and later became a mentor in her nursing career. She was one of the most resilient and hard working woman I have ever known. She was an amazing wife and momma to her beautiful son. Emily, the world of nursing lost one of the best. You are gone way to soon, but you will never be forgotten. Our heaven gained the most beautiful angel. I'm sure your Momma greeted you with open arms. Until we meet again sweet Emily

I remember clearly the first day I met Emily. She had a big orange truck and I was interviewing her for a nursing job. She wore jeans and sat down on the floor right next to me. She asked a lot of "why" questions. She was curious and compassionate and not afraid to say "I don´t know" but I will go find out.
She quickly demonstrated that she was an excellent leader. Whether it was playing with Alden in the park or fishing or doing foot care, she brought a beautiful spark, passion and realism to everything and everyone she touched. She was genuine and caring and a true friend. I guess the cosmos needed her as well.

I will remember going into a residents home, Emily would be there caring for the elder and sometimes studying, I´d think ohhh good all is well here as Emily was in the home and it always was. I did not know Emily would later become close friends with my daughters and that I did know her mother in law was someone I knew long ago. Emily touched many lives for the better. She leaves a beautiful family . She didn´t choose to leave but she had to go. Praying for you all.
