I'm very late on this so no one may see it - but I wanted to extend my condolences regarding Emily's passing. I met her when I briefly worked at the coffee/chocolate shop in Northbrook several years ago.

I didn't know her well but even in the short time I knew her it was clear that she had a bright light within her that she was eager to share with everyone she met. She was truly a good and kind soul, and I was so sorry to hear of her loss.

David, I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter. My condolences go to you and your entire family. Although I never met Emily she was obviously a wonderful and caring person; a real jewel.

I am so sorry to learn of this profound loss.
I just watched the video memorial, and as each picture passed, I gained a deeper sense of Emily's vibrant, caring, light-filled spirit. So beautiful, inside and out.

Dear Durning Family,
Emily's memorial service was beautiful. Thank you for sharing your family's memories, pictures, music and personal insights of what an exceptional person Emily was and the life she lived.
As I have repeated so many times since the memorial service...I now know why God needed Emily back in heaven...God needed his MOST special angels back at this divided time to assist him in spreading more love and goodness to the world. But I will take your family's advice and put a hummingbird feeder outside my kitchen window to be inspired by a visiting beautiful, delicate little bird to remind us to show more kindness everyday and live our life to it's fullest- as Emily taught us all by the beautiful, inspirational life she lived.
