Emily Lacy Obituary
Emily was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. She was a poet, an artist, and a creative genius. Emily passed away on June 12th, 2017. Emily did not die "suddenly," her addiction got the best of her. But Emily was so, so much more than her addiction. Emily was the most genuine person you would ever meet. She was truly unique, and unafraid to be herself. Her spirit was rare and beautiful. Emily will be deeply missed, and forever remain in our hearts.
Emily is survived by her father, Rich; her mother, Cheryl; sisters, Jessica (Donny), and Ginny (Cody); brothers, Zak and Spencer (Samm Holmes); and deeply loved niece and nephew, Ryder and Primrose. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Emily leaves behind countless friends she has touched, including special friends Angel Morgan and Amber Richmond. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street). Emily was my best friend. We met in kindergarten and never spent a day apart after that. I moved when I was 15 but we still always found our way back to each other. I'll never have another best friend like her. I miss her everyday!! Until I see you again!!!!

Emily was my best friend from kindergarten until I moved away my freshman year. I considered her to be more of a sister than just a friend. She knew all my secrets and I knew hers. I knew that there would never be judgement for anything I told her and same in return. Unfortunately we had a falling out because of stupid things but not a day went by that I didnt wonder how she was or what she was up to. I'll never forgive myself for not contacting her. I truly commend the family for the information about an addiction that is an epidemic and uphill battle. While I do not know any of you, my thoughts are with you. I loved being around and hanging out with Emily. She was silly, snarky, fun, kind, and a GREAT hula hooper!!
