Emily Landry Obituary
NEW IBERIA - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Emily Anne Landry, 23, on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Msgr. Richard Green will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday from 8:00 am until 1:30 pm.
Emily was born July 23, 1987 in New Iberia and was a resident of Jeanerette. She passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Emily was a 2005 graduate of New Iberia Senior High, and graduated May 14 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry.
Emily is survived by her parents, Michael J. Landry and Robin Robichaux Landry of Jeanerette; her brothers and sister, Aaron Michael Landry of Baton Rouge, Lynette Landry Perret and husband Emile Perret of Bossier City, Andrew Nathan Landry of Jeanerette; and her grandparents, Ulysse and Emilda Babineaux Robichaux of New Iberia, and Faye Webre Landry of Jeanerette.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Walter J. Landry.
Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron and Andrew Landry, Emile Perret, Weylin Robichaux, Robert Landry and Matt Nguyen .

Dear Michael and Robin, I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your lovely daughter Emily. I drove to New Iberia from Abbeville to say goodby to Emily and to visually remind myself just why I quit drinking on Emily's 2nd Birthday July 23, 1989. I did not want to be the one driving the automobile that killed another Emily, or a car that ran down a mother who was just trying to get her children home safely, and by-the-way, from everything that I read I know that there could never be another Emily, and she will be in my prayers for the rest of my life. Every year on July 23 when I receive my gold chip I will do just as I did on July 23 ,1911, I will accept my chip in the name of Emily, and may God rest her soul, she did so much for so many.
