Emily Perez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 11, 2025.
Emily Perez, 70, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on January 20th, 2025. Born in Okinawa, Japan, and raised in Waianae, Oahu. She went on to spending 25 years in Honolulu, Hawaii, before leaving the Island to New York and then Florida.

Emily was a woman of grace, strength, and boundless love. Her journey was filled with laughter, adventure, and an unwavering dedication to family and friends.

She met her husband Moses Perez, at Flamingo Chuckwagon, where it was love at first sight. That fateful encounter led to 40 beautiful years of marriage, filled with love, resilience, and a shared passion for life. Together, they built a family and raised three wonderful children: Moses Jr. (Denise) Perez, Jenai (Josh) Nyberg, and Alyssa (Alex) Holton. She later became "PoPo" to her beloved grandson, Tucker, who lit up her world.

Emily was a woman of intellect and artistry, earning a double bachelor's degree in Sociology and Fashion Design & Marketing from the University of Hawaii. She blended her deep understanding of people with a keen eye for style, carrying the elegance and meticulous craftsmanship of her roots into everything she touched. Whether through fabric, food, or words, she created beauty with every gesture.

She dedicated her career to helping others as a supervisor at the Department of Children and Families (DCF), where her kindness and wisdom changed countless lives.

Beyond her career, Emily embraced life with passion. She found joy in sewing, cooking meals that brought her family together, and chasing excitement on trips to Las Vegas. Her warmth, humor, and generous heart made every moment spent with her special.

Her passing leaves a profound emptiness, but her love, laughter, and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

A service to honor and celebrate Emily's life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 1 PM at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32221.

Flowers are welcome as a tribute to the beauty she brought into the world.

Rest peacefully, Emily. Your love, light, and legacy will never fade.
