Kadria, Umberto e Ala,
abbiamo saputo soltanto la settimana scorsa della scomparsa di Emma, mia madre ha chiamato Lucia a Roma, non aveva notizie da un po'....
Non so se siete al corrente che io ed Emma ci scrivevamo negli ultimi mesi, l'ultima volta a metà giugno quando mi ha inviato una foto di Kadria con le bambine, era orgoliosa delle sue nipotine, credo che sia stata una mamma ed una nonna eccezionale... anche a me ha dato dei consigli preziosi nei suoi messaggi.
Volevo farvi sapere che noi tutti la ricordiamo con profondo affetto.

I did not know until today that your mother had died. She was a wonderful teacher, colleague, and friend. I know your family must have the happiest possible memories of life with her.

Dear Milanis,the world has lost a beautiful person , Emma was so unique! I lost a coleague, Italian teacher,neighbor and friend. I admired her sense of humor and fashion finesse,her honest smile and bright green eyes...I will be thinking of your mom as la prima stella di la sera, shinning every day and everywhere forever.. mi mas sincero pesame a todos ustedes.

Please know how very sorry I am for your loss. I have many good memories of Zia Emma. She was an intelligent, and truly kind and compassionate woman. I remember well our long talks while in the kitchen cooking together for our families those many months while we were all in our house in Michigan. She offered much strength and insight of a life lived in joy even through and despite personal pain. Her words of wisdom and faith stay with me today. I remember that at the time I thought very highly of her as I continue to now.



This will be a tough experience for all of you to go through. I am happy, though, that you all were all able to be there for her at the end. I hope that you will know God's peace and that you are comforted today and in the days to come.



My condolences to Ala, Kadria and Umberto. I am praying for you all.

Your mother was an incredible woman. I remember her very fondly and with love as a small child then again as a long-lost email corresponder. She surmounted many obstacles in her life and is to be remembered as a winner, survivor, kind and deeply treasured human being. I am so sorry for your insipid pain now. But, I know that your strength as a family and, moreover, as her children, will get you through these dark, dark days ahead. Know that I am thinking about you all, Ala, Kadria and Umberto, my dear cousins. I am so sorry for this most profound loss. I wish it were possible that I be there in person, but please know that I am in spirit.

Emma, you are truely missed!

Ala, Umberto and Kadria, your mother was a very special woman and we were extremely blessed to have the pleasure of knowing her. Take care of yourselves. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
