Family-Placed Death Notice

Emmett Harry Mann, 80, of Lawrenceville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, on March 18, 2005. Mr. Mann was born in Mt. Morris, NY on April 6, 1924. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Emerson Mann and Laura Dolan Mann and three of his siblings, Lawrence Mann, Everett Mann and Martha Krebs. He attended Duke University until being called into the Navy, where he served for four years as a Lieutenant J. G. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY in 1947 with a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering. During his career, he held executive positions with major industrial firms including GE, HK Porter Co., Union Tank Car Co., Allis-Chalmers, Black, Sivals and Bryson, Intl. Utilities, GA Dept. of Industry and Trade and Warrenton Rubber. Mr. Mann is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 59 years, Mary Jane Mann of Lawrenceville; his children, David Mann and wife, Roberta of Tallahassee, FL, Janet Walker and husband, Phil of Snellville, Douglas Mann and wife, Susan of Malabar, FL and Jody Mann of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Patrick Mann and wife, Melanie of Orlando, FL, Andrew Roof and wife, Tanya of Austin, TX, Adam Roof and fiance, Cameron of Atlanta, Jessica Mann of Tallahassee, FL and Stephen Mann of Malabar, FL; great grandchild, Bryson David Mann of Orlanda, FL; siblings, Frances Cummings, Rose Weaver, Carl Mann, Jr. and Robert Mann. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2005, 2:00 PM at Eternal Hills Chapel with Rev. Mac Palmer, officiating. Interment, Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, Snellville, (770) 972-3155.
