Something Different

As many memories with Nana Griffiths pass my mind, I can't help but pick up on one of the most important things that she taught me: To question why not?

Nana Griffiths wore a light baby blue wedding dress as she walked down the aisle. You can imagine that during those times it would have been quite the talking point. But, really, why not?

It doesn't take much thinking to realise how comfortable we are in sticking to our patterns. And as much as there is great satisfaction in expecting the same, Nana Griffiths was right in that it's important to recognise the potential in what's different.

I didn't realise until adulthood how brave Nana Griffiths was in going against the grain. Society can be a massive force but sometimes society is right and sometimes society is wrong. Nana would sometimes give opinions that went against the pendulum as it swung towards her, but she stood there and gave it food for thought. Why not?

There's nothing better than a slice of ginger crunch with your cup of tea, is there? Or did Nana Griffiths have something in the pantry for you to try with your cup of tea today? Something different.
