What a shock. My condolences to his family and friends. I was in JROTC drill team at Cocoa High with Eric and he was a hoot. Some of the brightness has gone out of the world.

Dear loving family, my name is Joe B. Cruz Jr. Shields of Christ, I was Eric's table leader when he attended the Shields of Christ Retreat. It was an honor to serve him as he was truly in the Word of God. Later on we would converse over the phone and then he and I were team members working together on a Shields of Christ Retreat. I will always treasure the times that we were together discussing the word of God. May his soul rest in peace. Your Brother In Christ,Joe B. Cruz Jr. San Antonio Texas

Eric, we thought of you in love today, but that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday and the days before that too. We think of you in silence, we often speak your name. Now all we have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we'll never part. GOD has you in his keeping, WE have you in our hearts! As a little girl, I looked up to you as a big brother. When my Dad would ask...how are you doing Eric, you would jokingly say 'Partly cloudy, slight chance of rain Mr. Williams'. From that moment on, and more so as we got older our friendship grew. You motivated me through my dissertation, encouraging me to just 'Get er Done'! As our Dad battled Leukemia you often took time to listen to him, to encourage him and to make him laugh. He loved you, and appreciated you for the kind, loving, and genuinely caring man you were, and so do I. Over the years our friendship continued to grow as you were always family to me. You were a confidant to me and me to you, a friend indeed. Proverbs 17:17. In spite of the distance, we were always close. Had I known our conversation last Thursday evening would have been our last, I would have kept you on the phone all night. You were at peace. Your voice was strong. Your words were encouraging, as they always were. Remembering our 2 and 3 and sometimes 4 hour conversations, the man you were and the love you shared, it is most certain you will truly be missed. There is a void for me as I already miss you and its difficult for me to imagine not hearing your voice, seeing your smile or hearing your jokes anymore, but I know I'll see you again some day. I thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to have you as my friend, as my brother and my confidant. Although you may no longer physically be here, your legacy, your love and all the wonderful memories will live on. Rest in Peace Eric. I love you dearly! To the family, my sincere condolences and may God comfort you during your time of bereavement.
