Eric Breon

Eric A. Breon, 62, of Lower Swatara Township passed away unexpectantly on Tuesday, August 10th, at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. Born on June 13, 1959, he was the son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Crissman) Breon. Eric was a loving and devoted husband, father, pop pop, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Deborah (Jurgill) Breon; his daughter, Lindsay, wife of Jason Sweger of Harrisburg; his son, Marc, husband of Katie (Kershner) Breon of Douglassville PA; and his adorable, precious granddaughter, Tenley Nicole Sweger. He is also survived by his brother, Randall Breon and his wife, Janice of Lower Swatara Township; his sister, Lizabeth Breon of Orlando Florida; his in-laws, Stanley and Jane Jurgill of Lower Swatara Township; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly. Eric was a 1977 graduate of Middletown Area High School and attended Penn State. He was employed as the Director of Medicare Operations for the Keystone Region at Aetna. He was a faithful member of Seven Sorrows BVM parish in Middletown, where he served as an usher, was on the Easter egg making team and fish fry crew. He was a 46-year member of the Lower Swatara Township Volunteer Fire Department, joining at the age of 16. He was also a long-time member of the Lower Swatara Township Planning Commission. Eric was very involved with his children's activities while they were growing up. He coached his daughter's soccer team and was a past president of his son's ice hockey team. He enjoyed spending his summers at his beach place with his family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 280 N. Race St. Middletown PA 17057 with Fr. Timothy Sahd and Fr. Ted Keating celebrating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass in the Narthex of Seven Sorrows. For those who wish to not attend the funeral services in person, there will be a livestream of the Mass on Eric's webpage on the Matinchek Funeral Home website. Eric was an organ donor and because of his generosity two people will receive the gift of sight.
