1977 I was a young girl working at the K-Mart located on Wilson Mills Road. For whatever reason I was put in as a greeter that day and who walks in but Eric Carmen!! He was with Marcy and they were having a good time laughing. Something I remember to this very day. I had seen the Raspberries and loved their music and always will. Eric was so very handsome:) RIP Eric, you certainly deserve it.

I recently found out that Eric Carmen had died. I don't remember hearing about it at all at the time. I have a somewhat personal connection to Eric Carmen. I learned many years ago that my adoptive mom was a huge Eric Carmen fan. She had learned to play all by myself on the piano back when it came out. My adoptive grandfather (her dad) worked for the Department of Defense as a contract negotiator He worked at the Pentagon in the from the late 60s until the early 90s. Eric Carmen's stepfather worked at the Pentagon with my grandfather as the same time. When he found out that my mom was a huge fan of his. He sent my mom concert tickets for the first row. And he autographed a few of his albums for her. My mom still loves his music. She's 63 now. She had a massive stroke in 2020. She cried for awhile when I told her that he passed. She said that he was incredibly kind to her and my grandparents and her younger brother when she met him. I learned to love his music as well.

I got to know Eric through his father's (Elmer) stories about his latest accomplishments. I was a co-worker with Elmer at Gould Corporation in Cleveland and he would keep me up to date on his son's career! I never saw a prouder father in my life! He once told me Eric wrote a song for a Warren Beatty movie which was rejected by the producers in spite of Warren's acceptance! Go figure! Once I read a newspaper interview in which Eric stated his parents didn't approve of his career choices! Boy was he wrong! The way Elmer talked about him, I thought he was an only child! Well, he can now hug Eric and say "Well done, my son, well done!! RIP!!

My heart truly shattered when I heard of the passing of Eric. His lyrics and music transcended me to a place where only he could take me. He was a brilliant musician, lyricist, composer and genuinely modest human being. You will be missed but never forgotten. Rest now sweet Eric and sing with the angels.

It was so sad to learn of Mr. Carmen's death. I've loved his music as a child, hearing my dad play it as he grew up with it. His love songs especially from The Raspberries to his own music have brought such great joy to my life. I actually got to see him play live with my dad who was over the moon to see his childhood star singing in front of his eyes. I am praying for his family. Thank you Eric Carmen for being a joy in my life. You will be missed greatly.

I became a fan of Raspberries in 1972 when I first heard Go All the Way blast from my car radio. I continued to follow Eric as his solo career flourished through the 1980's. I was fortunate enough to see Raspberries perform 7 times over the years. His music was always a deeply complex creation with many layers. I had the great pleasure to be with Eric during a birthday celebration for him in NJ. His passing was like the loss of a family member. May he rest in peace and his music continue to captivate people around the world.

I was not aware Mr Carmen had died until May 5th. Two years ago this coming July I saw a video on YouTube. It was from a 2004 concert. I knew nothing of The Raspberries; however, I liked some of the songs. I´m sure his family is grieving quite deeply. Nothing anyone says will help ease the pain of his absence. May they find some comfort in remembering what he meant to their lives.

I remember when I was 10 years old in the mid seventies and going through my siblings albums, I came across an Eric Carmen album. I played it on the record player and I was instantly hooked. The music was as beautiful as his voice. He will live on forever in his music. Thank you Eric, for touching my heart and being a wonderful part of my life growing up.

I had a radio next to my bed growing up. My Mom would never let me listen to it at night but of course, I played it low. I can never forget the very first time I heard Eric Carmen singing, "Go All The Way". It stays with me to this very day as a memory I will never forget! Thank you, Eric Carmen and know that your memory is and always will be immortal.

My heartfelt condolences to Eric's family and friends. Eric and the Raspberries always make me smile, not to mention Eric's solo hits. This music takes me back to the late 60's at Mentor High School (I was a year behind Dave and Wally) and a time when everyone wanted a connection to someone in a band. Definitely a "right of passage". We all should have such positive experiences which got even better when the Raspberries arrived on the scene. Such a joy to be able to witness the bands that fed into the Raspberries. Memories that will never go away thanks to Eric and all his bandmates being such talented musicians and genuinely good people. Eric, thanks for the memories.

In 1972 I bought the Raspberries album and the sticker on the front smelled liked "raspberries." "Go all the way" was every young man's theme song in the 70's. I got 2 tickets to your first tour to Minneapolis, my 16 year old girlfriend and I thought it was the greatest concert ever. The joy the Raspberries created in the 70's will last forever. Plus, John Lennon dropping in on the group when recording Starting Over and wearing a "Raspberries t-shirt" confirms the greatness of Eric's band. Thank you Mr. Carmen and bandmates. A+

The first time I saw Eric Carmen perform was with Cyrus Erie at a high school dance in 1968. I was mesmerized. His talent and charisma were evident even to a naive teenager! First met Eric when he entered the pop music scene in Cleveland with my old friends in The Choir (prior k/a The Mods). As his career progressed, we'd see each other at various Cleveland area gigs at clubs, concerts, etc. sponsored by the radio station I worked at, WMMS. Eric would frequently stop by WMMS in the 70s & 80s with a new single or album for us to check out. Always the quiet gentleman/genius and music icon adored by many. He liked WMMS so much he used an in-studio scene with DJ Kid Leo to open one of his major videos! in later days I lived about a mile away from Eric in Gates Mills' Ohio and we'd often see each other; Eric in his "Benz with the license plate MUSIC and me in my Jag' with the license plate RADIO, what a hoot it was! Eric Carmen's graceful yet powerful music made him not only a Cleveland area icon but an international icon as well! We were all blessed then and continue to be blessed by him and his great music. As Mike Love's lyrics stated "And though we'll miss him now that he's gone, his songs of life go on and on". ROCK ON ERIC!

As a WIXY 1260 correspondent I had the opportunity to follow The Choir, Cyrus Erie, Raspberries and Eric Carmen for 50 years of passion loving music !! He was one of the best voices here in Ohio that quickly drew attention and he achieved his DREAM! Today the remainder of the Raspberries should put a tribute for Eric in Cleveland Ohio so all of us fans can come together and remember him! RIP in heaven with all musicians that are gifted like you!

Eric and the Raspberries played a special concert for our tiny high school, St. Willibrord on the south side of Chicago, attendance of roughly 469 kids, in 1975 as the opening act for the Grass Roots. Our little school won a contest from Carefree Sugarless Gum where we had to write "Carefree Sugarless Gum" on index cards. Hard as it may seem to believe, we had something like 1.6 million cards that we wrote (our teachers even let us write the cards during classes because they wanted us to win so badly -- and we did!) and won the contest hands down, even over schools that were 4-5 times larger than us in student body size. From that first song, I was hooked as a fan of the Raspberries forever. And then I saw Eric in one of his first solo concerts in Blue Island, Illinois in 1976, during a 4th of July weekend, along with Jim Peterik of Ides of March and Survivor fame. It was great! I was so shocked to hear of Eric's passing. And I've been playing nothing but Raspberries songs since I heard the news. His songs are stuck in my head. Rest in Peace, Eric. I always wish I would have met you in-person, but hopefully I'll see you in Heaven some day.

I know I've come late to the dance, I was looking for a song by sinatra I'm through with love, for a book I was writing abd found Eric Carmen. OH MY GOODNESS. I was hooked, I was inspired, and I was a fan from that moment on . The world needs more music like his. I know he's playing with the best of them up there in heaven, like my dad, the best Cleveland bass player from the theatrical.

I first saw Eric perform about 55 years, ago. After that, my best friend and I, as young teens, followed his bands...and, over a four year span, had the time of our lives, dancing the night away to the sounds of either Quick, Cyrus Erie, or the Raspberries.
We know Eric is loved beyond a presence that cannot be measured on earth. His Creator designed Eric's path, that only Eric could achieve. This was the gift that Eric aspired to, only to generously share it with the world.
God Bless Eric Carmen, and we know God is blessing his beloved family and friends, right now. He certainly will be missed.
