Dear Gloria and family.I am very sorry to hear of Eric's passing. I remember him as kind and always smiling when we lived on Page st. in Chomedy. All the children on the street had a ball playing together.

Dear Gloria, Harvey, Sheldon and Linda,
I just came across Eric's obit a few minutes ago. I'm so sorry for your loss. Eric was one of my closest friends on Page Street when we were young. I think about him often when I look back to my childhood. He was always gung ho to do anything: playing baseball, building forts, playing hide and seek, especially playing street hockey (even when it was summer). And he was brave in so many ways. Mostly, I remember his joie de vivre and, oddly enough, his runny nose (always had one). Looks like Heaven has one more angel in its midst.

My dear friend we parted ways so long ago and yet, it seems just yesterday we were in the Hillcrest schoolyard creaming Wener and Yancovitch at champ.
While you made it back first we will join you in time, until then know that all your old schoolmates love and miss you.

This was very, very sad news. I wasn't really close with Eric, but I do remember him from Hillcrest Elementary School. From what I recall he was a very sweet, mild mannered child. I shocked that he is gone, and way too young. My sincerest condolences to his family, and friends.

Dear Eric,
It's so strange.
We were in each other's lives daily for the first 16 years. Then weekly for the next 4 years. We spent 3 hours together in 1984. In 1991, we had 4 glorious days together in New Hampshire when you visited. After that, an occasional phonecall, and in 2004, a few email exchanges.
Yet, something drove me to Edmonton from Boston to take care of your final arrangements as soon as I found out that you'd passed away. I just had to.
I wish we had more time together as adults. Although we fought like demons as children, there was always an undeniable bond. You always stuck up for me, and I for you. You would have been a great uncle to little Miles!
And so, it is.
Your loving sister,
Linda

Eric,
I am verklempt. My heart is heavy but in a strange way, glad that you are free of the bonds your injury caused you these past few years.
You made me laugh all the time, when you didn't make me so mad that I had to argue every bit of your "testosteronisms". As soon as I would finish arguing and building up my case against your statements, I would look at you and you would have that Eric smile. That sily, stupid, I could kill you, smile. I knew you had me AGAIN! Arrgghh. Eric, I am glad I knew you and I am glad that you made me realize how stupid my arguments were.
You were such a goofball. Such an Eric. We all really enjoyed being your mates and your friends.
Rest in peace, buddy. We miss you on the rails and I wish to hell that I had been able to be more help over the last few years.

Eric,
I had just transferred to Transportation when you were in Toronto on the shortage. We worked together a few times, and it was good times. I had always wondered what had happened to you. I left the yard, and worked the GO trains, and when I was sent back to the yard, you were no longer around, and I had heard you went back West. I learned a few things from working with you those couple of shifts, and will never forget them. Try to take it easy on ol' Phil Burkhart as you guys switch cars up in the Heavens. Switch in peace buddy!
