Eric Boyland Forsyth

I met Eric online over a sailing experience I had in my youth in the US Virgin Islands. It was April 2023 and I was trying to find more information on Jack and Dee Carstarphen and their ship Maverick. Eric wrote this back to me "Jack had a great influence on me, he got out his sextant and for the first time I measured the angle of the sun. In all my cruising until the '90s I used celestial navigation, and i even sailed 6 Bermuda Races as navigator in the '70s when celestial was the only nav aid available. Fair winds, Eric"

I enjoyed working with Eric at Brookhaven National Laboratory, in the AGS Department, during the years 1964-65. Eric was always fun to work with.
I am sorry that I missed meeting with him by a couple of days, after many years, in Inverness, Scotland during the summer of 2015.

There are few people on this planet who have the courage to demonstrate greatness. Eric was certainly one of them. He was one of the few great men I've met and one of my favorite customers.

I´ll always remember with appreciation sailing with Eric from Long Island to Bermuda and back. And I loved going to the send off parties with bands and music!!
