Eric Izenbaard

Izenbaard, Eric Kalamazoo Eric Izenbaard of Kalamazoo passed away surrounded by loved ones Saturday May 14, 2016 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital at the age of 38. Eric was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo and Portage area. He was born at Bronson Hospital on August 4, 1977. He graduated from Portage Central High School in 1996. Eric had a true passion for the outdoors. He loved to camp, fish, hunt, play disc golf and yard games. Eric was also an avid collector of toys, sports memorabilia and movies. He will be remembered around the area as the kind hearted and passionate face of Van Tuinen Painting, where he was employed for 13 years. Eric is survived by his loving daughter, Alanah Izenbaard; girlfriend, Kendall Miedema; parents, Mary Baker (Steven) and Jim Izenbaard (Kathy); grandmothers, Helen Bult and Kathleen Izenbaard; sisters, Alexandra Aguilar (Jonathan), Kaity Gormley, Dana Izenbaard, Leah Baker; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by his grandfathers, Allen Bult and Marvin Izenbaard. Friends may visit with the family from 10am-12pm on Thursday, May 19th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. A memorial service will take place at 12 p.m. Pastor John Delger will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
