Eric D. Michaelis

FRANKLINVILLE - Eric D. Michaelis passed away Saturday (Dec. 31, 2022).

Eric was born Nov. 7, 1995, in Olean, and was the son of David M. and Julie A. Wulff Michaelis.

Eric was a 2013 graduate of Ten Broeck Academy and attended Finger Lakes Community College.

He worked at Shurfine Grocery store as a teen, before going to work at Cattaraugus Container which is now Jamestown Container.

Eric was a lifetime VFW Auxiliary member, member of IOOB's, the Franklinville Conservation Club and the Monday Night Hackers Golf League.

Eric was a former Big 30 football player and an avid outdoorsman. He also enjoyed dirt bike racing/riding, canoeing, snowmobiling and fishing. Eric was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills, NASCAR racing and enjoyed a variety of music, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his niece and nephew.

Eric was a kindhearted loving friend to all.

Eric is survived by his mother and father, Julie and David Michaelis of Franklinville; his loving sisters, Kate Michaelis of Franklinville and Marissa (Aaron) Wagner of Holland; and his grandmothers, Sandy Michaelis and Barb Wulff, both of Franklinville. He was a loving godfather to his niece, Rhaya Wagner; and a proud uncle to Tyrus Wagner. Eric also leaves behind dear aunts, uncles, cousins, great-aunts and grest-uncles; along with many friends who he loved dearly.

Eric was predeceased by his best friend and grandfather, Bob "Papa" Wulff; and grandfather, Richard Michaelis.

Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 7, 2023) at the Ischua Valley County Club.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home, 7 N. Main St., Franklinville.
