Eric N. Porter

Eric N. Porter, 34, of Evansville, Indiana passed away on Saturday Oct 15th, 2022. He was born on May 19, 1988, in Nashua, New Hampshire to Larry Porter and Nancy (Jones) Porter.

Eric spent most of his childhood in Odon, IN where he graduated from North Daviess High School. He was very involved with Boy Scouts and earned his badge as an Eagle Scout. Eric received a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice at Ball State University, also studying abroad in England. Following Ball State, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in combat in Afghanistan. While in the Army, Eric was accepted into the Criminal Investigation Division. His service as a CID Agent took Eric to South Korea, where he learned to enjoy the culture. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, he worked as a Private Investigator in Southeast Asia. His adventures also led to time as a PI for a global firm, teaching English in Vietnam and pursing his passions for crypto currency as well as real estate.

Outside of his professional life, Eric or "Porter" as his friends called him, was a jokester at heart, had a go with the flow attitude, a kind smile and soul, loved the outdoors including biking, hiking, running, camping and paintball, was always willing to help and loved to travel.

Family left to cherish the memory of Eric include: his father, Larry Porter of Bloomington; mother, Nancy Porter of Washington; sister, Shawna Mullen & niece Emma Gordon, of Indianapolis; grandmother, Jean Porter, of Elnora and grandfather, Don Snider, of Evansville.

Eric was preceded in death by grandparents, Ray Porter, Clifford O. Jones and Ernestine Snider.

A gathering of friends and family to honor Eric will be held at from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Aces Restaurant in the Washington, Indiana Country Club. Hors d'oeuvres will be served. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to bring joyful memories of Eric and join us at his gathering if you are able.
