Eric REMUS Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 1, 2003.
REMUS _Eric Ernst Remus passed away peacefully at his home in Seattle, Washington on October 28, 2003 after a short battle with cancer. He was loved by and leaves to mourn his family: wife Ann Zentner; daughter Ingrid (Robert Storch) and their children Susan (Cain), Mark (Maris) and Julie (Chris); daughter Astrid (Darrell Pura) and their children Steven (Tanis), David and Christine; daughter-in-law Kelly and her children Kyle and Eric Remus. Eric also had a special relationship with his stepchildren Donna-Jean Zentner and Gary Zentner. Eric was predeceased by his first wife Elfriede, our angel, in 1978, and by his son Arnold in 1995. He often spoke of seeing them in heaven and our hearts are warmed at the thought of their reunion. Eric was born in Germany on January 22, 1924. He married Elfriede in 1949 and they immigrated to Canada in 1953. Eric worked most of his life as a carpenter with Smith Bros. and Wilson, and was recognized as a hardworking, dedicated man. After Elfriede's passing, he obtained his pilot's license, bought a small plane and spent his spare time in the skies. As he entered his retirement year, he met Ann Zentner and they married in Seattle in 1986. Their winters were spent in Palm Desert, California, where Eric took up golfing and enjoyed the many friendships he made there. He quickly forgot about the cold Saskathewan winters. Eric will be cremated in Seattle, where a memorial service will be held to celebrate his life. Ingrid and Astrid feel blessed to have spent a week with their dad in Seattle just before his passing and will cherish his memory forever.
