Eric Karl Rippel

Eric Karl Rippel, 23, of Rostraver Township, died Friday, June 25, 2010. Born in Pittsburgh on March 20, 1987, he was the son of Dean J. and Janice (Ratter) Rippel. Eric was a graduate of California University of PA, was a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, serving as secretary of the C.U.P chapter in 2008, and vice president in 2009. Eric also was a freelance writer and pursued interest in public relations and graphic design. He was employed at Kmart diner. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Jillian Lee Rippel; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Elsie Rippel; maternal grandmother, Lola Ratter (and the late Edward Karl Ratter); the following aunts and uncles: Lawrence S. Rippel and Mary Pat Mengato, Patricia Lee Rippel, Linda and Joseph Michalski, Laurie Ratter and Richard Kapfer; several cousins; and his girlfriend, Emily Wardle.
