Edward Dadurka Obituary
Born Sept. 17, 1922, in Shamokin, he was a son of the late Albert and Anna (Ragaish) Dadurka.
He was a 1940 graduate of Coal Township High School. After graduation, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and was an assistant leader in the 366 Company.
He served as a communication sergeant with the 1285th Combat Engineers Battalion in the European Theater during World War II.
He was married in St. Edward's Church to Florence (Pilarski) Dadurka.
He was among the first group of extraordinary ministers at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, Elysburg, and assisted in many church activities.
He was retired from the National Ticket Company.
In his retirement years, he was an avid pinochle player and sports fan, and spent long hours tending to his garden. He enjoyed his grandchildren.
He is survived by five daughters, Vicki, Christine and husband Thomas O'Connell, Elaine and husband Martin Eichen, Maureen and husband Charles Behl, and Paula and husband Howard Podgurski; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Jean Dadurka; 10 grandchildren, Susann (Dadurka) Pinkerton, David, Jonathan and Joel Dadurka, Alyssa, Kate and Erin Eichen, Patrick and Timothy O'Connell and Laura Behl; three great-grandchildren, Isadora and Iona Pinkerton and William Dadurka, and a sister, Anne (Dadurka) Malinoski.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; four brothers, Joseph, Clem, Frank and John, and two sisters, Mary Ravis and Agnes Milbrand.
