My deepest sympathies to the Scheuneman Family. Eric was my dearest friend who helped me immensely when I needed him the most. He invited me into his home to stay for over 8 months and we shared viewing many a hockey game together. We knew each other for many years while we attended All Saints Church . He knew my father's family from Pembroke, Ontario.
Rest in peace, my friend.

I was so very sorry to hear of Eric's sudden passing.
Through his wonderful granddaughter's decision to bring my son into his family, I was given the honour of meeting and getting to know Eric over the past few years during Scheuneman/Holmes family gatherings, events I remember fondly and gratefully.
Many of my fondest memories of these are of Eric Sr and his ever humourous, often insightful, entertaining and educational conversations.
Ever after I first met him, when another of this family's gatherings was in the offing, I anticipated with joy being able to chat again with this remarkable man.
My sympathies to the Scheuneman and Holmes clans for your sudden loss of Opa. His legacy is alive and continues, as all good things do, as you pass on his traditions of generosity, wit and compassion to each new generation.
Thinking of you today and in the months to come.
Much love to you all.

To the Scheuneman family:
It is with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of our dear friend Eric. He was part of our family (the Plouffe family) for several years and we will always cherish the wonderful memories of him.
Eric was a man of class, who had a tremendous sense of humour and a big heart. His family was most important to him and he always spoke very highly of all of his children and grandchildren.
Whenever we see pictures of Eric, our family will always be reminded of the wonderful, loyal, compassionate loving man that he was. He will always be remembered and will be missed tremendously.
Please accept our sincere condolences to all of you.
Sincerely,
Lynn, Mike, Casey, Jodie-Lynn McLewin; Doreen, Mark, Mary, Kennedy, Susan, Jerry, Josh, Gilles, Sylvia and Paul Plouffe.
