I am so sorry you lost your dad Amelia.
Your dad and I were best friends growing up...
From what I have heard, I´m sure your dad would be very proud of the wonderful person you are.

When I think of Eric, I think of his smile. I worked with Eric in the hospital. He always made me laugh. He is truly missed.

I always think of you right around this time of year since our birthdays were just a couple weeks apart. One of the things I remember about you were the many kindnesses you showed to those around you. I remember being in ICU at Kingston Hospital after an accident and you somehow convinced the nurse that you were my brother so you could visit me. Anyone who knows us understands what a real sales job that was...

I'm still stunned by the news of your passing.. I've been thinking about all of us back in the day when we hung out in Eddyville. So many good times, laughs and smiles. You were one of the good guys. I will remember your kind heart and friendly smile.
Peace out.

Still hard to believe you have left us for a better place. God surely needed your kindness and musical talents for a higher purpose. Our families were all so close back in the day when we were all growing up in the Port Ewen, Kingston, and Woodstock areas. So many fun fun memories. My earliest of you sweet Eric was when your parents took me on vacation to Lake George so I could be available to baby sit their little adorable bald baby !!! Some of us headed south earlier than others. Those years in between were mostly updates from our Mom's and Dad's. When you came to Florida it was always so great having you at all the family gatherings, picnics, and Oktoberfests. Always fun catching up.
We loved when Eric was working at Morton Plant Hospital when Dad was a frequent flyer there !!! Nice to see him doing something he was so good at. Caring for sure !!
Eric was so proud to show us pictures of his daughter Amelia and would let us know how she was doing. Will will so miss you Eric, but you can be sure we will always have a smile on our face to match yours when we recall all our good times together. Any time we are all together we will be sure to raise our glasses and do an Ein Prosit just for you! Hugs and Love to all the Schlichtings during this most difficult time of loss.

Still not believing Eric has left us to go to a better place. Surely God needed his kindness and musical talents for a new purpose. The Schlichting family always seemed like family as we all grew up together and his Dad and Karl Bohlmann were business partners. My earliest memories were baby sitting him as an adorable bald baby !!! We moved to Florida and so years in-between were only updates through family members. Recently though we have had time to do more family gatherings here in Florida. Our Oktoberfests every year were a given that we would all attend. Always a fun time. We enjoyed our times together and chats about anything and everything. Eric loved sharing pictures of his daughter Amelia and be beaming when he would talk about her. We will miss you Eric. We will always have a smile to match yours when we recall our our very fond memories.

My memory of Eric is that he was a dear childhood friend until I moved after 10th grade. Port Ewen was blessed with his smile as others noted. Peace to his family. Wish I knew he had lived in Florida not far from me.

My deepest sympathies to Eric's family and loved ones. We were high school classmates and never saw each other much (if ever) after that (except for Facebook), but I remember Eric as a kind and gentle person who always wore a big smile. I'm glad to have known him. Peace and love with all.
