Peacefully at Champlain Manor on Friday, January 8, 2021. Eric Wesley Scott (Scott Silo Construction Ltd.) of Rugby, in his 91st year. A building contractor, land developer, stone mason, carpenter and farmer. Volunteer firefighter, avid hunter, sports enthusiast, proud member of Orillia Masonic Lodge (65 years), and life-long member of Forest Home United Church. Most importantly, he loved his family. Eric is survived by his wife of 66 years Joyce (Jermey) and daughters Linda Woodrow (Tom), Darlene Shoebridge (Garry) and Janet Strachan (Wayne). Proud Papa to Trevor Ball, Nicole Bolyea, Graham Shoebridge (Katie), Brooke Strachan, Kelly MacDonald (Cameron), Jill Strachan and Cameron Strachan. Proud Great "Papa Eric" to Hayley and Jana Ball, Ben and Carter Bolyea, Tyler and Samuel Shoebridge and Wesley MacDonald. Loving brother and business partner to George Scott (Brenda), Twyla Penley (Garry) and predeceased by sister Myrle and brother-in-law Mel Strachan. Respected and missed by many nieces and nephews. Brother-in-law to Garry Jermey (Pat), Doug Jermey (Judy), Gert Jermey (Norman predeceased) also predeceased by Bill (Joyce) Jermey and Don Jermey, Special longtime friend to Bill Dixon and family. Our family extends a very heartfelt thank you to Dr. Tazzeo and to all the staff at Champlain Manor for their care and friendship over the past year. Due to Covid 19 a private family visitation was held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. A service to celebrate Eric's life will be held at a later date, in accordance with Provincial regulations. Interment Knox Cemetery, Oro-Medonte. If desired, memorial donations can be made to Forest Home United Church, Rugby Community Hall or a charity of your choice. Donations can be made through Carson Funeral Home, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595
